Digi Fun… Independence Day Is On It’s Way…

Digi Fun… Independence Day Is On It’s Way…

Since everything is still topsy-turvy around here I have been playing around in the digi realm… Every year since we’ve been in this house Brent and I have had a big neighborhood/friend 4th of July Pot luck BBQ & Fireworks party. Each year different people show up and each year seems to be more fun than the previous year. This year I had wanted to make some really cute paper invites, but things are obviously, well u know, so I…

The Culprit…

The Culprit…

We interrupt today’s blurfing (blog surfing) for a message from our sponsor culprit… (I’m finally feeling up to dealing with some of the photos I took… mostly I just need to get them off my camera card…) This is the culprit… under the carpet in the concrete floor of my once 100% finished, cozy and well loved family room…. It’s now repaired. Thankfully the family room sits on the high side of the house and the poo water did not…

Character

Character

“Personality can open doors, but only character can keep them open.” I made a whole bunch of these little guys for some girlfriends a while back… Avon had these cute little Disney Princess Chapsticks on sale and I could not resist! And of course you can’t just give them to your girlfriends without some sort of cute packaging…. (You can click on any of the photos to view them larger.) I modeled my package after a matchstick box card and…

Thoughts for Thursday & Sketch {011}

Thoughts for Thursday & Sketch {011}

“We need to give each other the space to grow, to be ourselves, to exercise our diversity. We need to give each other space so that we may both give and receive such beautiful things as ideas, openness, dignity, joy, healing, and inclusion.”—Max De Pree (b.1924), author, former CEO of Herman Miller, Inc. Here’s a 6×6″ card sketch for you this week. You can also turn it into a 6×6, 8×8, 9×9, or 12×12 layout! I’d love to see what…

Where There’s Water…

Where There’s Water…

“Water, water, every where,And all the boards did shrink ;Water, water, every where,Nor any drop to drink.” There’s a HUGE problem…. Did I forget to carry Madame Zeroni up the mountain somewhere? UPDATE 6:00 pm: NOPE…. after a short look around my office and studio, we discovered that my sewer drains had backed up into the basement. My office/studio floors are now ripped out and on my back lawn, the restoration guys are downstairs shredding stinky sheetrock, my studio is…

It May Look Like Your Gramma, But They “Ain’t” Her Stamps

It May Look Like Your Gramma, But They “Ain’t” Her Stamps

Ok friends, here’s my cheeky take on the “Sketch” Challenge {010}… I used some really fun stamps from Missy B Designs, “Doodles” and “Halloween Women”. I fell in love with the whimsical and spunky attitude of these sets…. “While they may look like your gramma, they definitely aren’t her stamps…”, I say. I used a Zig two way glue pen to apply a puddle of blue glue to the leotard of our sweet gramma and painted it into place with…

Sketch Challenge {010}

Here’s a different take on a “sketch” challenge….. I was playing around today with some different papers that I’ve picked up here and there and of course, PaperTrey Ink RIBBON… I love this pink grosgrain ribbon! Anyway… I have since added to this background and I think it turned out way cute. 🙂 So go ahead, use this “sketch” to create a piece of art. Would love to see what you create, so leave a link using tinyurl in the…

Thoughts for Thursday – Unlikely Friends

Thoughts for Thursday – Unlikely Friends

“Friendship is the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person, having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words.” —George Eliot [Mary Ann Evans] (1819-1880), novelist “The most I can do for my friend is simply to be his friend. I have no wealth to bestow on him. If he knows that I am happy in loving him, he will want no other reward. Is not friendship divine in this?” —Henry David Thoreau (1817-1862), writer, naturalist, philosopher http://widget-b0.slide.com/widgets/sf.swf I have…
